Why Should I Clean My System?

Regular inspection and cleaning reduces allergens and increases system efficiency. Reducing or eliminating contaminants can help make your walls, floors, furniture, carpet and draperies cleaner longer ...and your indoor air CLEANER.

How Often Should I Clean My System?

Air Ducts: Every 2-3 years or as often as annually for those with allergies or who are especially sensitive to airborne contaminants.

Fireplace: Once per year or after each chord of wood. An annual inspection can serve to head off any possible water damage to masonry and/or prevent chimney fires due to creosote build up. If you have not used your fireplace in over two years, an inspection is highly recommended before you begin using it.

Dryer Vents: We recommend a self inspection annually and cleaning whenever you schedule a furnace and/or duct cleaning. If your dryer begins taking longer and longer to dry items that is a sign it is ready for a cleaning.

Minimize Indoor Air Pollution

According to the EPA, indoor air pollution can be as much as 100 times more than outdoor levels. As we seal our homes against the winter cold and summer heat smoke, bacteria, fungi, mold spores, skin, animal dander, hair, lint and germs all circulate through home ventilation systems. Allergies, headaches, sneezing, dizziness, and other symptoms can be alleviated by regular furnace, duct work, and air conditioning system cleaning.

Increase Efficiency

Regular HVAC system maintenance and cleaning can increase efficiency and reduce energy consumption up to 20%. Cleaning clogged dryer vents can allow you to dry clothes twice as fast. Install energy efficient top damper systems on your fireplace which on average produce energy savings that pay for their installation in just a couple of years.

Maximize Safety

In 2003 the Consumer Product Safety Commission reported 68,900 home fires that caused over $532 million dollars in damage. 1,560 deaths and injuries were caused by carbon monoxide. Proper maintenance of your heating and cooling system, dryer and dryer vent(s), and fireplace can help assure you don't become one of these statistics.
